I am a young architectural designer living and working in New York City. In addition to working in an architecture office, I enjoy furniture design and construction, as well as various types of photography. Junior Designer
   BRB Architects, New York, NY – September 2010 - Present

-Worked on school and college projects in all phases from feasability study to bidding & negotiation. Extensive use of Revit in creating and organizing a full drawing set for the renovation of a 20,000 GSF college student center. Graphic and presentation work for an award-winning Univesity master plan. Various tasks in firm marketing and office management.


Architectural Intern
   Sasaki Associates, Watertown, MA – March – May 2010

-Involved in intermediate resolution of master plan for Lulu Island, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Worked in conceptual design phase with tasks including drafting of diagrammatic plans, building design through digital modeling, creation of presentation graphics, and drafting of residential and public buildings.


Roger Williams University
   Bristol, Rhode Island – August 2005 – December 2009

-Master of Architecture, minor in Visual Arts/Photography
-Semester abroad at The Institute at Palazzo Rucellai in Florence, Italy, Spring 2008

-Thesis project, titled Density: An Additive Process, seeks a way to deal with the inevitable densification of Manhattan. Goals include preservation of the existing structures that give the city its character, as well as the beginning of a system of organic, additive growth. It proposes a system of vertical growth based on towers of offices and public nexuses, linked by bars of housing and linear garden sequences. This combination of elements yields an elevated, pedestrian, public level.

-One of six-member team winning 1st of 7 at regional Design Build competition hosted by Associated General Contractors of America

-One of six-member team winning 3rd of 14 in competition to design revitalization scheme for Modena, Italy

-Photographed and archived student architectural and fine art work using digital SLR and studio lighting equipment. Layout design for posters and documents. Installed gallery exhibits and created various prototypes using laser cutter and 3d printer.

-Prepared students for exams, ensured thorough understanding of lecture material and evaluated completed work as sole graduate assistant in most advanced technical course for Master of Architecture degree.

-Sole assistant in Design Studio course as part of architectural summer program for 14 high school students.



Software

-Adept at creating full drawing sets in Revit, including working with existing conditions, phases, design options, and in the creation of custom families. Great strength in digital renderings using 3D Studio Max. Excellence with the Adobe suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign.

-Additional experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Maya, Google SketchUp, Microsoft Word and Excel, Auto-des-sys FormZ, Maxon Cinema4D and Adobe Premiere.
